Each year we prayerfully consider a theme to highlight our goals for the upcoming year. In 2012 we chose ‘Illuminate’. Our goal was to let our light shine through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We appreciate all of you who allowed God to use you to illuminate your world.
2013 marks a unique endeavor that we believe will be a great opportunity to see revival flourish in churches and youth groups throughout our District. In 2013 we celebrate one hundred years of the restoration of water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. While this teaching is biblical and has been practiced throughout church history, it was renewed in the modern Pentecostal movement through the Worldwide Camp Meeting in Arroyo Seco near Los Angeles in April 1913, culminating in the rebaptisms of Frank Ewart and Glenn Cook in April 1914. Throughout 2013 the Western District Youth will celebrate 100 Years of the Jesus Name message.
I am happy to introduce our theme for the Western District Youth Department in 2013 – “Authentic”.
Its definition is “Real” “No Substitutes” “Genuine”. Our choice for this theme is simple. As we celebrate the name of Jesus and the power of that name we want to remember it is that name that makes us who we are. We are 100% Apostolic. We are “AUTHENTIC” in our beliefs of who Jesus is and the power of His Spirit. Help us this year celebrate the name of Jesus by being “AUTHENTIC” and being 100% Apostolic.
