It’s hard to believe 2013 is gone and 2014 is upon us. The WD Youth Division is thankful for a tremendous year in 2013. We appreciate all the support from churches, youth groups and Pastors that has been given over the years.
In 2013 we saw many great accomplishments and blessings. We saw an increase in Bible Quizzing teams and participation, we were blessed by one of the best Youth Conventions ever, we had the highest attended Hyphen Retreat in the nation and the local support for Sheaves For Christ was unprecedented. With all of that we are still not satisfied. We believe God is going to do greater things in 2014.
Every year the youth team meets to pray, plan and produce quality events for the youth of this District. Every year we pray and strategize behind a theme we believe can help us carry our passion and spread our goals. This year we have chosen the theme “VIRAL.” Viral has long described an event or item that spreads beyond ones control. We pray that in 2014 the Gospel, Evangelism, Church Growth, Revival goes “VIRAL” across our district. We are believing God for a tremendous year and here are a few events we are introducing and bringing back to help accomplishment our goal.
We are excited to announce that on February 14-16 we will be bringing back PK Retreat. This event is open for all Licensed Ministers children that are in Middle School and High School. Information for this event is located in this packet. We are also conducting a District wide Youth Workers Retreat in Ceres, CA. This event is for anybody involved in all levels of Youth Ministry. Our speaker for this event will be Bro. Brandon Shanks from Apopka, Florida. Again, information for this event is also located in this packet.
Along with these events, Youth Convention will be taking place April 23-25 in Visalia, CA and the speaker will be Pastor Joel Urshan. You can register now for this event at wdyouth.org. We are also bringing back Western Apostolic Youth Choir or W.A.Y. Choir. This event will stay right here in our District and travel to various sections. Look for upcoming information. One of the biggest changes is a BRAND NEW VENUE FOR SENIOR HIGH CAMP. The dates are July 11-15 and will be in the mountains just outside of Yosemite National Park at Sugar Pine Campground. This is an outstanding venue with great options such as paintball, zip line, ropes course, rock wall, fishing, paddle-boats and more. Look for information to come your way soon.
Again, thank you for all of your continued support. Help us Go VIRAL this year with gospel and impact our district. God Bless!
